"Great lighting is a great solution. A great lighting company provides great solutions for most lighting situations. A great lighting solution is smart, practical and beautiful . . . and affordable." So goes the motto of Access Lighting. Based out of Tustin, California, this lighting giant features a variety of fixtures almost exclusively in the transitional and contemporary designs. Offering a robust selection of energy efficient lighting in the LED, Gold Cathode and Fluorescent categories, Access is sure to appeal to the most environmentally conscious consumer. Even with such environmental friendliness, there is no shortage in selection as they offer practically every lighting fixture one could want indoors. The new Eros line looks like a UFO from an old 1950’s B movie. Luna, a bit more aptly named, is a bit less UFO but similar in features to the Eros. Sol appears as a cross between wild branches growing out of a shrubbery (wall sconces and semi flush ceiling lights) and half flowering tea/half prehistoric creature encased in amber when covered by glass (flush mount ceiling light). The Leila line features a more transitional look hanging pendant lights, with a shade reminiscent of a not so long ago trend those ruffled fabric diffusers. Their entire catalogue bristles with designs present, future and not so distant past. Incorporating sleek finishes and clean lines, these are not the design patterns of the more traditionalist decorator. Though their Safari line does infuse a healthy dose of earthy tones for one looking to inject a bit of color into a room.
