House of Troy Lighting
Originally a small custom lighting shop in Montreal back in 1947, House of Troy lighting may not offer the sheer volume of a larger designer but they do offer elegance and reliability. A family run company, though the family has changed once now, finds itself in a small nook of Vermont where it handcrafts most its lights and sells them throughout the world. Having built their reputation on picture lights and piano lights, they also have expanded to desk, floor, and table lamps along with wall sconces and cabinet lights.
Their designs are traditional, appealing to the crowd who wants the basics done right. The Hyde Park collection offers arms shaped like flowing cursive letters in bronze or brass finishes. The Horizon collection features two thin picture lights and a thin necked desk lamp. Generation lamps are desk lamps, wall lamps and floor lamps, all featuring a base with the arm at a slanted angle or jutting out in one direction, perfect for task lighting. House of Troy also offers battery operated picture lamps, desk lamps and piano lamps, for those unable to hook up wiring while adding flexibility should one want to move a picture or switch desks.
Today, their picture lamps category remains the largest with wall swing arm lamps and floor lamps coming in a close second. One can be sure of the quality of the items with House of Troy.
